Hotel Prins Hendrik

The biggest bonus for this hotel is its location - in the very center of the city, all popular sights can be reached without using transport. It should be noted that staying in this hotel should be expected to be noisy almost throughout the night - because it is the very center of the city, if it does not disturb - then still - the location is ideal. Breakfast was very good - English breakfast - everything fresh and tasty. The room was not super modern, but OK.

The location is excellent, we've been in Amsterdam many times in different parts and this has been the best location by far. Very central, close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops & the main transport hubs. Check-in was very easy, the gentleman on reception was very friendly and welcoming. We loved breakfast, beautiful bacon, eggs, beans, endless flow of coffee, mini croissants and very friendly staff, a brilliant way to start the day. We were a party of three and had a very spacious, clean and warm quadruple with a view of Centraal Station and the waterways in front of it. There was a spiral staircase to our room, it is Amsterdam remember, but the receptionist made sure we were ok with these before allocating the room.

Very easy to get to by train, short walk from railway station. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Location to the centre was excellent, everything was in walking distance. Breakfast was simple and basic but it got you off to a good start for the day. Room was spacious, and clean. The location more than makes up for any shortfalls the hotel may have.

The good things about this hotel are that it is very close to Amsterdam Central train station, it is easy to get around, breakfast is good, and the front desk is very nice. The disadvantage is that living on the second floor of the street, it is a little noisy in the morning and evening, and the sound insulation equipment of the hotel is not good, affecting sleep. The hotel is old and the equipment is old. This is booked four months ago when the price of 199 euros, about to check in found that the price is constantly reduced, for those of us who booked first can only be withdrawn and booked again, has been withdrawn twice, after the irrevocable period, found that it has dropped 10 euros, but there is no way to remedy. I loved this quaint little hotel. Our room was large with very comfortable beds with crisp white sheets. A good pressure in the shower and good supply of hot water. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of cooked hot food, cold meat , cheese and fresh fruit and yoghurt. My granddaughter's were delighted with the fresh pancake maker. Even though it's in a centre located the street outside was quite at night allowing for a good nights sleep. Hotel Prins is only 4 minutes walk from the main train station where were caught direct trains to Zannce Schans and Schiphol airport.
